Workshops
I have extensive experience planning workshops, with a focus on identifying team needs, brainstorming, team alignment, and fostering a design culture. The key to a successful workshop is in the details, including activity timing, materials, and resources. I aim to create an engaging and productive environment, always seeking out new ideas and techniques. I am confident in my ability to create a tailored workshop experience for small or large groups.
I really enjoy workshops. They're a great opportunity to share ideas without any pressure to be right or wrong. The more diverse the group, the more creative the results!
Recently, we held a workshop to develop the personality of our new product. We invited people from marketing, product, operations, and even engineering! I've done similar workshops in the past, but this time we had to do it virtually. Holding a virtual workshop can be challenging because it's difficult to keep everyone engaged. To overcome this, I used Slido to make the workshop more interactive.
During the exercise, participants were able to view each other's responses and Slido displayed the collective response visually. This allowed me to quickly follow up with those who selected "Chameleon" to better understand their rationale. To optimize our time together, I divided the process into three sessions with some "homework" assigned in between. As a result, we not only developed the personality of our product, but also ensured that the entire team was aligned. Even the engineers inquired about the alignment of the personality we developed as we reviewed the designs together!
I have also led workshops to foster our design culture. There are times when we want the team to think outside the box and refresh their minds. One example of this is the "Multi-device Experience Design" workshop. You can read about how I organized the workshop on Medium: Design Hack: Cross-device Experience Design.
